Context Analysis

A research report including information gathered from two-stage field analysis: surveys to investigate the level of familiarity with the concept of sexting and the degree of awareness of its consequences on the behavior of adolescents, and a desk research on the existing good practices in the field of sex education for students including also sex education paths in the school.

Educational Model

The partnership develops a Handbook for teachers and students which defines a new learning approach in digital sex education and ICT education, based on the peer methodology, through digital training materials (video, storytelling, photo, etc..) and role-playing games.

Partners will test the educational model in two learning experiences: the first one addressed to students for a gradual increase in awareness of the digital foot print of sexual materials shared through digital devices, its implications on their privacy and its effects on their behavior; the second one, addressed to parents for increasing their knowledge about sexting and digital skills, helping them to improve their listening and communication skills on sexual issues with their children.

Guidelines

It is a document aimed at giving operative suggestions to schools and training organizations for the inclusion of digital sex education in the curricula. This document is also addressed to authorities in charge of education, training and health for exploiting the project results in order to raise adolescents and parents awareness about the risks of sexting and encouraging an intergenerational critical discussion around the sexting.
